An oil can or oil bottle – the small plastic or tin bottle with a long nozzle used to put sewing machine oil into the oil points. In manufacturer part books the big tank under an industrial machine is called the oil reservoir or oil tank.
Which oil tank fits the Juki DDL-8700?
The Juki oil reservoir assembly 229-31851 (oil tank with gasket) fits the DDL-8700, DDL-8500, DDL-8300, DDL-8100 and DDL-5550 series. The gasket (229-31901) and the drain screw are sold separately on this site.
Which oil should I use in an industrial sewing machine?
A clear, light sewing machine oil (white oil). Never use engine oil or coconut oil – they gum up the hook and the feed. Sewing machine oil is in stock in 1 litre packs; 5 litre packs on request.
How often should a sewing machine be oiled?
Industrial lockstitch machines with an oil pump need the tank topped up when the oil sight window drops below the lower line; machines without a pump need a few drops at the marked points once a day of use. Domestic machines: once a week of regular use.
